Hi For the last 9 months or so my website has done really well on Google's Local Business results on a search for 'bed and breakfast devon' (it has been consistently at number 2). Over the same period my SERPs organic position has been between 9 and 13. The discrepancy here is easy to understand because there are lots of bed and breakfast directories that are not tied to a postal address so they do less well in the local results but put lots of SEO into organic rankings. Suddenly (last week) my website went down to position 21 on the local results while not changing in the organic results. Anyone any idea as to why this would happen ?
Google replies on the consistency of data for local results. Have you changed anything on your Places page? One small thing can throw things off. Have you added any keywords to your Business name on your Places page? That could have gotten you a penalty.
