I have noticed some sites do use fake visitors for attraction of real visitors. Will google punishe those sites?
Google, particularly the Adsense team does not like "fake" visitors.. You know what they say: "keep it real" ..
I am wondering how exactly Google would identify these websites? I mean a visitor is a visitor only way to tell them apart is by IP.
If do you use a hits generator (I think that you are talking about it), in a website with google adsense, you will be banned soon, if you are using it without adsense and you are talking about the SERP position, you will not see any changes, its just a bandwidth lost.
I've seen some programs where you just load up a huge list of proxy's and it will do whatever you want it to on your site (click links, add to forms etc) Not that I would encourage anyone to use it, since its pretty use to find out that the "vistor" is coming from an proxy..
I rather think Google is suspicious about it - I would not ban a site for it. What if these guys are my competitors - I need to launch the tool - hit my competitors - and I am on the top. That is too easy - just like destroying a site by linking from porn sites or whatever. That is not really logic on behalf of Google
