Fake PR ? How can i tell ?

    Hi,

    I have been approached to do a 3 way link exchange but i want to check out the pr of the site in question to see if its fake ?
    How can i do this?
    Is there away ?

    Just google "page rank check" and there is a nice site that you can enter the url and get the real pr.

    Simplest is just check it in google (and thats what all others does)

    info:sitename.com and see the url of the result matches with the query.

    Use a firefox developer's toolbar. And view it from google bot's perspective :D

    You will get redirected to other site if that site is stealing others PR.

    And see the cached page. If it is sites page then PR is real. Otherwise its fake.

    I saw a listing on a site like textlinkads.com (I think was like textlinksite.com or something) and a guy was selling a spot on his "pr9" site. the domain was new (so a whois search MIGHT help) and my buddy used a javascript-remover extension for firefox that showed that they were cloaking. I wish I knew more detail to tell you, but thought it might be slightly pertinent.
