This is the new one and this is how it goes:

Introducing the New PayPal Security Center

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PayPal works 24/7 to keep you safe
We use proprietary technology - and constantly innovate - to help ensure your transactions are safe
PayPal and eBay have over 1000 people worldwide dedicated to keeping PayPal accounts safe
We use powerful encryption methods to help protect your sensitive information
Our experts work behind the scenes to protect you

To use this new Security System, you will need to Confirm your Account Information. When you confirm your account information, you increase the security of transactions on the PayPal network.

There is a confirm button which takes you to http://0xcb511df6/www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscrcmd=_login-run/ - fake login page.

    DO NOT SIGN IN :D

Is it me or spam is on the rise. A few months ago I hardly got any spam but now I get spam on my sites, blogs, directories, e-mails... there’s just no end to this crap.

It depends how old your blogs/addresses were at the time, and where you've advertised or given them.

That`s not spam, it`s called phising. Sending fake emails to steal people`s email accounts, credit cards, money etc.

Hm...I have this kind of script :
    1. Users login on a fake page
    2. They are redirected to the paypal site(real one) meantime log details get sent by mail.

I never used it, cos I have a good opinion about people and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't log in on another domain that claims to be paypal? Also you can't do anything, cos when someone accesses your account from another country and the account isn't business it gets blocked. But the person has time to send the money. If the owner of the account writes to paypal about that in less then 30 days guaranteed money to be received. Everytime paypal did their job and retrieved the money to the inocent people, so it's basically unworthy to get these cracked paypals, it's useful only for site/shops with Digital Delievery.

I see a lot of these paypal, eBay and banking emails. I always tell people never to click the link in the email, it doesnt take much to open a new browser and type the url in.

Just think on how many people actually fall for these emails and login using the link.

As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the PayPal system. We recently noticed the following issue on your account:

Unusual account activity has made it necessary to limit sensitive account features until additional verification information can be collected.

We have been notified that a card associated with your account has been reported as lost or stolen, or that there were additional problems with your card

and then gives you a link for you to enter your account details , to prove you have access to your card or whatever

Here, my friend got one of these recently and who was living in the States. She came to Ireland and spent over $1000 using her Paypal Mastercard so when she got that email she thought it was from Paypal. Lucky that she remembered about me always barking to never click the links on emails so she ignored it and the week after I got one but I have zero funds in my account
