Fake Guest and xx Viewing figures

    I am thinking of advertising on a forum that always seems to say it has 2000+ guests while only 50 or so registered members, looking on here and other large forums, I see 400+ registered members and not even 1000 guest, this leads my to ask the question:

    Can a webmaster FAKE the guests in the forum??

    They can fake the guests and fake the actual users in the forums with forum bots.

    You could always just tweak the site so that the number has a "1" in front of your actual forum posters, suddenly it looks like you have an extra magnitude of visitors and yet the number does fluctuate realistically.
