Not sure what you mean by a fake list, ive seen lists posted in this section before by new forum members where 90% of the urls are not even directories. But vmoptions just provides a list of directories there for you to use or not. If you are referring to the many .info ones, maybe contact the owner, have a chat and ask the owners intentions, i mean the directory owner, not the list owner.
What exactly is the definition of a "fake" directory list? VMoptions has a list of directories which are manually verified to be free with mostly dofollow links when they are submitted. If the sites don't work or are not free they don't get added. They have almost 3000 directories listed there. I don't think many webmasters would manually check all 3000 every day to make sure they have all kept up with their sites but I know from experience that if one is reported it get's checked and it is removed if it's found to be bad. So I'm not really sure what the issue is we're debating about this list?
i've used that list many times over the last year and it's one of the most updated lists of free directories that i've found and i've looked around a lot. just happens that lately there's been a lot of .info directories, far too many of those being put out. so the thing is with the directory owners and not the site that's posting them as free directories. though i can't seem to get the page tonight, it appears off line entirely which is odd.
