I've been checking through my ads for the past couple days and the keyword is right on but nearly 90% of all the ads I get are all fake ads. 7-topsites.com 8-topwebsites.com 9topsites.com best4sites.net ez4search.com top-10sites.com toseeka.com Plus many more, every time I turn around there's another one! This is really frustrating, when will Google start doing more to protect the publishers as WELL as the advertisers.
I know what you mean. Just block them in your competitive ad filter. Those sites pay diddly squat anyway. I once had 8 clicks and earned just 1 cent when I had those sites running ads.
Being able to block out 200 sites simply isn't enough. These types of sites are breeding faster than rabbits, so the 200 filtered out today will be replaced by 2000 tomorrow. Look at the following sites: Ihardwoodfloors.net eleathersofa.net isectionalsofa.com ediningroomfurniture.net They are all showing up in the same way that those 'topsites' are. They don't contain anything useful. They are all on the same ip address… along with about 369,000 other similar sites! See for yourself. http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=ip:72.51.27.51&FORM=MSNH That's just one ip address, so I'm sure it's only the tip of the iceberg. It doesn't matter how many sites we are allowed to filter out, it is Google that actually needs to take action to stop such sites from using adwords. Yes, it is disgraceful. If G is going to continue accepting these sites, at the very least publishers should be able to specify that they only want ads displayed that will pay above a certain amount if clicked.
Since my last post here which was earlier today, I found the following: audiojoint.com reliableoffers.com latestringers.com 8-topsites.com ringringmobile.com 25-topsites.com I'm also noticing a trend with the #-topsites.com domains. They must have tons of them. I can't get rid of them. I banned a few a while ago and I'm already getting much better targeted ads for my site. I'm thinking of reporting the #-topsites.com because that's just plain rediculous. Nobody really knows how many different sites they have and their spamming their way to the most important place, the very top of my display ads.
Yes, and that's why you shouldn't bother in the first place. I don't "get" why this is so hard to understand, because everyday there is another thread about using the url filter by some noob who claims it increased his earnings.
unfortunatly, there are perfectly legit. they make sure that they all comply with google TOS - otherwise they wouldn't be able to use adwords.
