Fake Accusations

This guy (ex-friend) keeps claiming that I've been posing as him and posting his stuff all over the Internet. Firstly, I have NO IDEA what he's going on about. I did contact him via a web form with regards my articles, but I have absolutely no idea about the rest. The thing is, this isn't the first time he has been accusing me, and quite frankly, it's really starting to annoy me. I'll be happily minding my own business, then bang, I get an email like the one below.

Now, what can I do about it. I've told him several times that I have nothing to do with what he's claiming, yet he just keeps coming back with random "evidence" - some evidence... especially since I haven't done anything. Should I take this to the police?

Previous emails of what I've supposedly done

I don't even visit his blog

So guys, advice / comments / what to do would be really appreciated.

    Thanks!

I replied one last time saying "Please stop contacting me" and here was his response:

I ignored it, figuring that would be the best thing to do. Shortly after the above email, I receieved another one:

Again, I ignored this email. By this point, I was pretty fed up. So I called up my local police station, explaining the situation. They told me to print out every email (about 20 in total) and come down to file a report. I went down to the police station and opened a case (PM me for the case number if you want). To summarise what happened at the station; they took my statement, a copy of all the emails, and information about this person. They also told me not to worry about his police threats because I had in fact done nothing wrong. If this was to go to court, I would not have to worry either because:

    1) I hadn't done anything (if you're truely innocent, you never have to worry)
    2) I had requested he stop emailing me, yet he continued to.

Nevertheless, they would not do anything as of yet. Finished up and returned home to find this email sitting in my mailbox:

Funny how I had not replied to any of his emails, and had been ignoring him yet had to leave him alone... - although at the police station, whilst looking for his details on my phone I accidentally called him . And now I have to leave HIM alone?!

So he thinks that he's doing me a favour by not "escalting" his case. I'd actually really love to see what "case" he has.

Right. Another thing - he currently runs a website, and has articles written by myself on it. i requested he remove them but he claims that they are now the property of his website (himself), because I quit membership of the website. He even removed credits to the article - i.e. it the articles are no longer stated as written by me. I spoke to my family lawyer and she said that because there was never any contract / small print / TOS when I submitted the content, I would very much be able to sue him and win.

What should I do next? My lawyer said that should I have to press charges, costs shouldn't matter too much because the chances are, he'll have to pay all fees involved. But I don't know if I'm prepared for the hassle. Articles are articles - they can always be rewritten. I just don't have time for all this.

Thanks for the replies so far. Tell me what you think next :)

Laws differ by country, and while you might be able sue him, you need to decide if it is really worth the effort and expense. Even in cases where you win damages, collecting is not always guaranteed.

I would just ignore this guy (block his email) and forget about it.

lol you may think he's a freak for claiming this stuff then on the other hand he probably thinks that your the freak whose posting all the stuff.

If he really thinks its you and has good reason to you might do this then I don't get why your complaining, if someone started spamming your stuff and you thought you knew who it was (even if its not) im sure youd have a few choice words with them.
