Fair rate for data entry work

I need several thousand records entered into an online database.

They're addresses and phone numbers and a bit of other info.

Basically it's a copy-and-paste job, but precision is very important and there are some formatting errors that need to be fixed.

I just did 200 of them and by the time I got into the groove it was taking me about 30 seconds each.

What's a fair price for this kind of work?

 

By my calculations that's about 120 entries per hour, so assuming there are 2000 entries then it'll take 16.66 hours. Personally I'd charge you $833.00, but I'm not cheap (just ask my wife)

It really depends on how many entries there are exactly. I've done this sort of work for internships before and several thousand could easily mean 5000-7000, which is what I assumed, instead of 2000.

I sent a PM but this might be a better way to give you an estimate. I would charge 200$ per 1000 entries. And if needed, I can negotiate a little.

 

Hm, I hate to say it, but coming from Malaysia, those quotes are a bit pricey. I may have to wait until the sun rises on this part of the world.
