All you've shown is that Ron Paul has 2000 supporters.

You failed to mention how many total people were there and you failed to show that the percentage of Ron Paul supporters to not Ron Paul supporters is representative of the nation as a whole.

Judging from national polls, I think you may have just found all Ron Paul's supporters.

Unless those 2000 people can vote in every district in every state, Ron Paul won't win a thing. I've never seen a presidential election won with only 2000 total votes.

There were 60 simultaneous Walks for Ron Paul across America last weekend. A low average turnout might be 75. That's 4,500 people.

A high average turnout might be 125. That would be 7,500.

But we already know that Ron Paul had over 20,000 donors in Q3, so...

    Over 20,000 donors is huge.
Think of all the people who won't bother to send money, but will be voting in the primaries.

The good news is, the average donation was $40. Paul doesn't have a lot of maxed out donors.

    20,000 eh

    http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/02/us/politics/02donate.html?ref=politics

And that was just for Fred Thompson.

93,000 new donors in 3 months.

    20,000 TOTAL for Ron Paul.

Doesn't look too impressive now does it?

Factor in the amount of major network coverage...
    • Saturation for Obama
    • Tons for Thompson
    • Very little for Ron Paul (at least on the major networks)

...and you see real people are responding in very large numbers to Dr. Ron Paul's message of freedom. :)

Most of Fred's cash on hand is actually for the general election, and cannot be used in the Primaries. That's a big difference. Consider that he only has a couple million more than Paul in the bank, but can't use it until he wins the nomination...

I didn't know there was separate funds.
Fred T. ("Where's Fred??") is looking like a real long-shot, based on his effort and personality.

Gemini, what campaigns do is let people donate $4,600, and put the 2nd half aside. You are allowed to donate $2300 towards a primary, and $2300 towards a general, so you just have a lot of people donating the full amount, but a lot of it can't be used yet.

Yes, Orlando area Meetup. Got a sign wave to go to tomorrow. The best part about being in a big city is you can get SO much literature handed out at a sign wave. The lights at the big intersections around here take forever, so you walk in the street and just start hitting every car with slim jims.

Yea, I can't wait. Apparently he's got a $500 plate lunch around the time it's scheduled, so he probably won't be able to make an appearance :(. But I have no money to donate, so it's worth the sacrifice when he can pull in the beaucoup dollars somewhere else :-/

If I ever caught someone putting trash on my car I'd find a way to sue them for littering on private property. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to dump trash on someone else's yard. If you want me to get your piece of garbage, then you put a stamp on it and mail it to me.

Heh, figured you'd take it out of context. By "hitting every car", I mean we walk into the street, offering literature to any drivers who are willing to take it. These are not empty cars, I'm talking about in between red lights, we are talking to drivers who are stopped. We gets tons of honks every time we do it by drivers waving as they go by, we have had many people turn around to get literature and find out more about RP. We even have had a few people stop wherever they are going, park, and join in the fun. It's really amazing.
