Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

Fact: Clicking on your own ads won't get you banned...

...if you send the right volume of clicks.

I regularly check my advertisers for low-paying partners to filter them out... sure, I could view the frame source every time, but it gets tedious after a while. Click - check site - paste URL into the competitive filter. Voila!

Granted, you probably need to be pushing 3.5-5k clicks a day, then they won't care.:)

    What the hell?

Right - Google's just going to be fine and dandy if I send them 3.6-5k clicks a day.

I didn't say they'd be fine and dandy. I see so many people flipping the s**t about wanting to disable viewing their own ads because they are all paranoid over getting canned from the program for clickin their own ads. I am pointing out that at a certain point, Google won't kick you out. And I am quite confident to say that I am not the only one with that experience.

Yeah, right. Try to click on your own ads from the same IP over and over... and you will see what will happen.

I would never click on my own ads!

Adsense logs your IP when you login to check your report. I clicked my ads a few time last few months, and Google automatically credit $0 to all those clicks.

For Opera, I just hover mouse cursor on the ad to show the url on status bar, write all urls down in notepad, and filter them all. It works for me that way, so I don't need to click my own ads.

Clicking own ads might be ok, but you look desparate.

Actually I don't think the problem lies with clicking of own ads. Many webmasters try avoiding that. The real problem is how to prevent others from clicking on ads unnecessarily. That's kind of hard to prevent and webmasters have little control over it.

I don't think vladid meant that he clicks on his own ads 3.5-5k/day, he meant that IF you are receiving in the range of 3.5-5k clicks/day, Google wouldn't mind if you click on the ads once or twice.

    It makes sense to me.

    Thank you.

Generally, and that is another truth... when you send a crapload of clicks, Google will be more lenient towards what they will allow you to do with your ad placement.

may be if you have around 50-100 clicks and all are legal clicks ,for those clicking 1-2 ads won't hamper to you ,i guess so.but clicking on your own ads just to earn money gets you out.

Why do you state it as fact? You dont know what Google is keeping on you, they might be tallying up all those false clicks and you might end up regretting that in a week, a month or a year. What is so hard about typing a URL into your address bar?

The only thing you dont have to be worried about is invalid page impressions because that is officially written on their FAQ.

I don't think you can state this as a fact, because you don't know how they will change their click fraud countermeasures in future. It may not get you banned today, because perhaps their automatic banning only kicks in at a certain percentage of clicks on your own ads. But they may change the threshold at any time.

If this is really true, then no one can make money by clicking on their own ads. This means a) there's no point clicking on your own ads, and b) Google don't care if you do because it costs them nothing. I'm sure they are aware of accidental clicks occuring...

On the other hand, given that this is pretty effective fraud protection, how come people still get banned for "invalid clicks"? People click bombing from other IP addresses?
