    Hey,

I am not getting any data with Link:www.mysite.com (mysite is just for example) query in Google. This is showing just one link that too from internal page of my own site.

Why it is not showing external links (my site have some good external links) for my site?

    Please help me or suggest

    Thanks in Advance

The Google link operator only ever shows a sample of the inbound links that Google knows about.

For example link:digitalpoint.com shows 3,270 inbound links when there are over 1.5 million inbound links showing in Yahoo Site Explorer.

The Google link operator has no practical use.

Google's 'link' command only shows links that count towards your PR value. It doesn't count links with a 'no follow' tag, or links from link farms, etc. Also, if a domain is dropped, sometimes it doesn't count any of the backlinks that were gathered before the drop.

Yahoo site explorer shows all backlinks, even the ones that are worthless.

The best use of the link command in google is to see what backlinks were used in calculating the PR value of the site. And even then, backlinks are calculated at a different time than PR value, so sometimes they get out of sync.

Use webmaster tools or yahoo site explorer to see your backlinks, the link: operator only show %1 or so backlinks.

    LOL

That's pretty funny Michael. Fortunately for me, I'm a senior level programmer for a fortune 100 company that I promise you've heard of, and I've been in this field for over 10 years.

I architect and maintain Enterprise Data Warehouses and build comprehensive OLAP multidimensional cubes and interactive reports that analyze web traffic trends and patterns as well as results of search engine optimization efforts. Trust me, I wouldn't have my position if I didn't know what I was doing.
