I'm facing a decision to make of which it will be crucial because my user data base will be built from that point. i'm building 3 websites of which 2 of them will work as a CMS, of WP and vB, one website will be so called the connection of those 2, and as a way to show the other websites of the related niche that the company owns. Basically i'm trying to split the main niche into smaller niches and for each creating a dedicated website (and i even created my totally own unique niche that i belive never existed before and with the help of the all network will be able to advertiser the new idea/niche) the problem is, should i keep the user DB per the site or should i duplicate the registrations over to the other sites, altought they didn't asked to sign up. if i will duplicate the regesteration the benefit will be that the users will be as part of the "network" and i will be able to advertiser new ideas to them via email in the future, the con of it is that many users can be inactive or fake users that didn't intended to sign up to the additional websites. the additional benefit is that i will be able to direct traffic to new sites (if cookie will allow it) and users will be auto logged in to post and wont need to sign up again. and it will save the problem of duplicate sign ups. I believe that if you advertise that network properly to those users they will eventually take a taste of each service/idea/niche of the network even though all they wanted in the first place is to sign up to one site only. Please not only vote on the poll but also share the thoughts in writing. the idea of creating 1 site for all niches exists but i'm trying to target keywords of the domain name for the specific niche.
My thoughts: I see you realize the problem with combining niche users - lack of interest, and eventually lack of interest because of the surrounding services that distract. If your 3 niche sites are all involved tightly together and give a benefit to the target audience your receiving in traffic that they were actually looking for (just maybe further down the road) - then I see no problems giving them an easy way to login to all three and stating this fact up front. Make it a "FREE BONUS" and don't advertise the crap out of the other sites, just make it present in all accounts, that they can always login to the other services. Any way a user can be easily flowed through your services without breaking laws and adding distrust I am all for - just make sure they are well informed and track your conversions to make sure there's no detriment(they might go up if done right!) - SocialMind
The registration will be free on all of the sites. each sub-niche is receiving substantial amount of traffic on google, we are talking about 960,498 for one niche and 252,000 for another niche, that is for few keywords only. I'm trying to utlize the ad space actually, because i will be selling a lot of ad space for that amount of traffic, and as i understand correctly by creating 1 site only i wont be able to A. Generate ad sales as i would from a network of sites and B. Target all niche related keywords. so that being said, i am on the right track with different sites for each niche, right? because if i do decide to duplicate sign ups, i am not sure if auto login will be possible because of a cookie issue, but that i will have to find out.
