lol you want $3,333.00 for a domain which:
    a) Was registered yesterday
    b) Includes trademarked words so should it actually get big it would undoubtedly end up at a trademark case and being confiscated.

I seriously suggest that everyone stays well clear, otherwise they end up losing there money and the domain, i also suggest you contact the host and ask for a refund and for the domain to be returned to the pool, if they will not sanction this, i suggest you contact Facebook, and offer to hand the domain over for purely cost price, anything more will land you in trouble for cybersquatting, and profiteering from cybersquatting.

I certainly wouldn’t even give you $1 dollar for this name.

    Hi socialwebexpert,
I doubt they trademarked their name including the .com, their trademark i expect is "Facebook" anything including Facebook with relation to the current Facebook would indeed be trademark infringement, as well as the fact he registered the name in bad faith, in this case one example of bad faith would be he purchased the name and then the next day offered it for sale for $3,333.00 and in his post he specifically mentions the social networking site Facebook.

    Bad Faith Examples
    1) Registering then the next day offering for sale for $3,333.00
    2) Trying to capitalise on the trademark/brand of the Social Networking Site Facebook, and even admits this "Domain is perfect for a forum related to Facebook."

Please before you suggest i do not know what i am talking about, i have studied various legal books with regard to the trademark and domain name infringement, i would reference plenty of trademark cases here & example legislation, but i do not feel the need.

A very recent examples of this type of trademark infringement can be found by googling and looking up the rapidshare cases, where rapidshare has been involved in confiscating names with rapidshare in the name.

Should this site become anything more than just a dead site, or should facebook decide they want this name, all they would need to do is prove bad faith, of the above i very easily proved two types of bad faith in this case, they could very easily confiscate the aforementioned domain.

While you are welcome to register "facebooklanding.com" should you do wish, facebook can again, claim trademark, if your registration of it constitutes bad faith.

    Thanks
    James

Yes there is allot, i have been there myself, i owned "YoutubeForSchools.info" twice, i didnt own it for bad faith or to profit out of the word Youtube, and yes people do get away with it for a while, Youtube didnt come after me for "YoutubeForSchools.info", it is only a proxy & cheap info domain, so it it worth a wipo complaint assuming Youtube know about it ? probably not but the second the company in question wants the domain all they pretty much need to do is file a wipo complaint and they will get awarded it, it is a proven fact. If your site gets big on a trademark, or the company decided they want the name, e.g. if facebook decided they wanted to start up a facebook board on the name facebookboard.com, they would go to wipo and get the name!

I am 100% sure, i have read books written by lawyers on this subject, their is many legal precidents, but more recently rapidshare was able to take over domain with rapidshare/some with just rapid in them, google it "Rapidshare Trademark cases", their is plenty for you to look through,

Here is a wipo link to just one of the recent cases, it
    http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/search/text.jsp?case=d2010-1106

    Here is some extracts
    7. Discussion and Findings
To succeed, the Complainant must demonstrate that all of the elements enumerated in paragraph 4(a) of the Policy have been satisfied:
    (i) the disputed domain name is identical or confusingly similar to a trademark or service mark in which the Complainant has rights; and
(ii) the Respondent has no rights or legitimate interests in respect of the disputed domain name; and
(iii) the disputed domain name has been registered and is being used in bad faith.

Also checkout "A. Identical or Confusingly Similar".

As i mentioned in my first post in this topic i recommend he contacts the host and ask for a refund and for the domain to be returned to the pool, if they will not sanction this, i suggest you contact Facebook, and offer to hand the domain over for purely cost price, anything more will land you in trouble for cybersquatting, and profiteering from cybersquatting.

    Thanks
    James
