thats way too much you could do it yourself it isn't that hard , all you need is a good fan page on facebook and a couple of friends on twitter
I am still quite new to facebook, but for the two fanpages I have created it has worked out very well for me. I use one fanpage to promote a fashion website I run. Every time I make a new post on the site I promote it via the status on the fanpage. Insane click thru rate gave me the idea that I should start a fanpage for affiliate products. So I did (also in the fashion niche) and I have seen some sales--definitely enough to keep my testing going on. What I like about facebook from an advertising perspective is that I can target people based on variety of demographic variables. For example: In the town I live in all of our movie rental places shut down within months of each other (you can blame redbox). Because of the demographic options available with FB I could target my advertisement to just people living in my area, furthermore only people who were interested in movies. I pointed the ad to a netflix offer and banked big time.
Yep. I'm doing great numbers with Facebook to the tune of $x,xxx/day although it's not very stable. The reason it does so well for me is it's viral nature. Once I am promoting an offer, I get helped out greatly by users sharing the content with one another and eventually it goes viral. When this happens I get TONS, and I mean TONS of free traffic which I convert. Test, tweak, test, tweak --> profit!

facebook is the fastest commercial advertising website , if your new you'll definitely catch up fast its easy
The best thing about facebook advertising is the ability to hyper target. CTR's and conversion rates are pretty low though.

@ popnyc...I have services for facebook and twitter where I charge much less. The price you stated I believe is the current rate, but those people are probably working for companies. I work for myself and therefore can charge far below what they offer. My services run a flat $200 a week, so I do not charge by the hour. About organic traffic from FB - what we noticed was that traffic from facebook spends a lot longer time on your site than traffic coming in from twitter. About paid traffic using facebook ads - there are still distinct arbitrage opportunities - although its changing fast. Facebook traffic works very well, if its an offer which appeals to a specific demographic. I think facebook will continue to innovate in terms of their advertising program - and in a year's time, advertising on facebook might involve as many tricky issues to contend with, as is the case with google adwords now.
I have used Facebook advertising in the past and found that the traffic isn't such quality traffic and I ended up just losing money.
first time i hear facebook isn't ranking or has bad advertisements .... i don't know maybe there is something your doing wrong
ya its true that now a days facebook is becoming the hot in google and you can advertise many more with the help of it but one thing twiter work like same.
you can get traffic from facebook and twitter by posting your site link but make sure that don;t try to give spam or spam again and again otherwise facebook block your account.
your traffic will increase with facebook more than twitter though but its all good .... be careful about the spam thing could block your account i've heard it from many people.....
