Facebook will easily pass Yahoo

Facebook will easily pass Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) as the biggest outlet for display ad dollars in the U.S. this year. The market research firm says Yahoo’s display ad revenue will increase a respectable 16 percent to $1.65 billion in 2011, but that the social network will see its display ad revenue jump 80 percent to $2.19 billion.
Yahoo has—perhaps unsurprisingly, considering its market share is falling—disputed the notion that Facebook is taking the lead in the display ad market, saying that the offerings of the two companies are not comparable.

Facebook definitely wins this, hands down. In addition to being a hugely popular social networking site, it is making waves in the display ad market largely because of the huge traffic within.

It's very clear to me that Facebook is a real winner here. I don't use yahoo much anymore and advertising there probably not as effective as facebook advertising.

Yahoo has been dead for a while... its on a steady decline. The targeting that is available for FB ads are incredible.

FB ads is amazing for branding and it's quite cheap. Yahoo should have offered higher to MArk Zuckerberg. haha.

Facebook the winner, facebook ads has a good customization setting for the ads and it cheap.
While no doubt to said that facebook have able to reach larger market than yahoo.
If comapre yahoo to facebook, ofcourse facebook the winner but if compete with google ads. Then maybe it still a big step.

I've been really impressed by how easy it is to target groups using Facebook's advertising tools. I strongly recommend it to anyone.

yea, I can target the correct segments I want, and the best thing is, if I target on the wrong crowd, my CTR will be low and I do not have to pay for it and I get exposure. Good for branding.

It is because Facebook has a lot of unique daily and regular visitors.
