Twitter in now coming compare to face book...According to me twitter is best for traffic..you just increase your followers..
Both can have the same effect, it just depends on the product you are pushing. I have found Facebook to be more valuable personally, but i believe that Twitter has more potential due to its viral tendencies
I've had amazing results with Twitter. Once I got the hang of building followers (I use a very inexpensive program called Twitter On The Run), and continued to tweet solid, relevant content, I began to get lots of traffic. Facebook is good, but harder to build friends, I think. So ultimately you just end up with much bigger numbers on Twitter. I have 450 FB friends - but almost 7000 followers on Twitter.
Twitter is the best for me. Mix about 70% of GOOD solid free content and real conversations with 30% (targeted) advertisements (not spammy or trash) and it should work well.
Spam is definitely a big problem on Twitter. Impossible to weed out. I wonder when they'll build some sort of filter in. Probably never. But again, if you do some focused follower-building for awhile (and again, I use a bot program) AND post real, relevant content, the sheer numbers are what makes it work. And I agree - the simplicity of it.
How is spam a problem on twitter ? You decide whom you follow and if you don't like the tweets you can unfollow. And you can only receive direct messages from people who you follow AND they follow you. If you are concerned about spam accounts following you, protect your tweets (preferences) and you can approve followers. I dont get any spam
I think Facebook is much better as your pages and widgets are always there with your links back to your site. But with Twitter, the problem is that your tweets hardly stay in view for less than a few minutes before being pushed off by new tweets. So, I'd go with facebook as the main source of traffic.
Twitter will drive more traffic to your site. Facebook would attract less visitors, but those visitors would be more engaged in your site.
It depends on your following and how receptive your following is to what you post. I've had great success with Twitter and I use hootsuite to track what my followers are clicking on from my stream. I've seen my Twitter followers click on one link 600+ times in a few hours. With Facebook I can't always track unless I go into Google Analytics to see if people are clicking. I tend to get more people commenting in Facebook then actually clicking through.
my answer is twitter ,myspace ,youtube ,facebook ,you gotta make them connected to each other in some ways, ive done test on all of them pretty much for my electronic campaigns the highest conversion from twitter.
I think that suggestion about connecting them makes tons of sense, fixmaster. At the very least, you should provide all your contact in each place (hard to do with Twitter profile). And the more you can DIRECT people from one to the other, the better. It's all about building an ongoing relationship so they are interested and want to see what you have to offer.
twitter having different concept social networking website, mostly used in marketing strategies, face book is non-commercial but i think now its little beat of commercial, use both, you only need traffic, don't think from where you are getting !!
