Hey everyone, Just wanted to get a quick consensus online before I have to present this to a client on Friday. Anyone have any trough figures i could present to offer for each alternative? Industry would be automotive based in London, UK. Thanks! Tim
IMO, Twitter is better to reach a larger number of people, while Facebook is better for keeping your fanbase.
On Twitter, you'd get instant traffic surge but it won't last a while. After like 30 minutes or 1 hour, your advertisement won't get noticed. On Facebook, it will stick longer than Twitter posts since a number of people check profiles themselves instead of just individual posts. Sharing method also works better than the retweets. All these are assuming that you already have a huge follower/fan base. Use them both accordingly and you'll get the optimum social media marketing.
If you are looking for localized advertising (in London only) then FB all the way. It wouldn't make any sense to advertise on Twitter where you would have a bunch of people in India and around the world clicking on your ads. FB is great for targeting your demographic.
Thanks for the help guys. Think we are going to integrate both facebook and twitter into this campaign as they already have a large following on both fronts (-:
