I have a question, if any experience person can guide.

I have a painting & remodeling business website. My target customers are just from Los Angelos only.

Will facebook fan page and twitter help me. Do you think it is worth to pay somebody to get me fans & tweet followers? Is it worth the investment.

I am also working towards by seo. But wanted suggestion about facebook & tweet marketing?

I wouldn't pay anyone, is time a factor for you?
If not, why not make your own facebook fan page and twitter account?
As far as asking if it's worth it, facebook has more than 500 million active users, twitter more then 100 million.. To me those are a good sign that it's worth your time.

There are people who gets you 2000 fans for $30 +/- with your criteria of age, location etc...

    Am confused if its worth...?

Btw how do you get facebook fans? Is it like you keep adding people each day everyday?

If you have customers only from a certain area, you should tell people, who live there, and whom you know personally about your product. You can do this by sending a message via Facebook, Twitter or any other social network.

Just ask them to spread a word about you via Internet or real-life conversations and you will see more visitors as the time passes.

I'd go for Facebook instead. Hit Twitter up when you have a bigger following.

a facebook fan page and twitter are great ways to stay connected with your existing customers (which you can create and do yourself) but may not be a good way to advertise your business for new clients. I would suggest Adwords or if you prefer to be in facebook then a facebook ad instead targeting LA area...

    my 2 cents... :)

I would start by paying someone either, if you learn this yourself, it's worth the investment. The reason why both Facebook and Twitter is awesome for what you are going to do, is that they are both highly targeted. You can find people in your area, the ones you want to reach. Do it yourself, that's my suggestion. It's not hard.

I wouldn't use twitter or facebook for a painting/remodeling business.

I like to setup autopost from my blogs to twitter and facebook. This will give you links back to your website from these social sites.

Before you start I would say that you should definitely have a social media strategy in place. You need to understand what you're going to be posting, who you want to target and what reasons you will give them to follow you.

facebook may be good for local campaigns, it definatley works over here in the UK

For your niche, LinkedIn may be a good place
    to start.

Facebook and Twitter are good just because
    so many people use it.

You won't know if it will work unless you try it.

If you don't have the time and not a lot of
cash, outsource to someone on Fiverr or Zerrk
    for $5.

As you are concentrating highly on a niche with high commission/sale, PPC may work very well for you if you are up for an investment. Just limit the advertising area to Los Angeles.

If you don't have enough time in doing it by yourself you can hire people do it in just cheapest amout. Facebook and Twitter will helps you a lot in your market. But think of the person who will work for you, a better, high quality and have experience. That will be cool :)
