On Facebook, you can not trace out this thing, but what's the effect is going on your site by the Facebook, you can track this thing. There are various tools by the help of which you can track the traffic coming from the Facebook.

Some best traffic tracking tools are - Google Analytics, Invisible Stat Counter, you can use that to track the traffic, and these are free also.

facebook and mostly all social networks are more about creating brand awareness, engaging with customers to create a top of mind value for your brand. forget about direct monetization techniques.

Hi! I think that it is better to gain traffic from no-follow sources, it is not necessary to use social network sites for this purpose. Such sources as facebook are usually used to inform about a product or about a website.

I think the best option is to make friends with the admins of the groups of your niche which has vast number of friends and start interacting with them. This will definately get you and your site more eyeballs than any other method.

Keep active on Facebook and build a strong relationship with friends who have the similar interests with you. Later, create a niche group on Facebook based on your interests and then attract traffic from those people.

Create a fan page or friend page, although if you anticipate on getting more than 5,000 friends, then a fan page is the way to go. Friend pages are a little more useful, because you can actually befriend people and they will see your updates regularly, whereas with a fan page, they will only see your updates if they "like" your page. Once you do that, search in Facebook for people who are using terms related to your niche. Offer more help than promotion. Blatant promotion will get you very little results.

Facebook can be extremely, extremely powerful. Facebook has attracted people of all age groups and from all parts of the world. If you grow your friend or fan page into something big, you definitely have a targeted audience to market your website to.
