Its strange but i've just noticed that facebook has a search engine powered by Bing. Has it been always like this? If not, since when? Its just interesting to know as Bing would become way bigger with facebook searches!

Microsoft has aggressively pushes Bing using its massive resources. They have it included as the default search engine for ZuneHD and now with Facebook. I guess that's the reason why the big G is somewhat cautious or wary about it.

It's amazing how fast Bing was able to do what it did in such a short amount of time. I've been finding myself using Bing a lot lately -- but not as much as Google.

Facebok is one of the fastest leading social networking with that partnership it could be a great move for Microsoft to catch up with Google.

That would be good for the consumers, as it would be viable competition for Google, I visited facebook home page and I couldnt see a search there, where is it.

This has been happening since about 1-2 weeks after Bing launched.

Bing/Microsoft MAY have had to pay for this, but definitely not as much as a "third-party" would have to pay. Remember, Microsoft bought around 1.6% stake of Facebook for $240 million back in late 2007.

If you're in the US, you may have also noticed that a lot of TV shows and other MSNBC publications featured somewhat subliminal Bing advertising... For example, in a popular TV show, the main character may find himself needing to search something on the web. When they sit at the computer and the camera pans to the screen, if you're looking closely you can see the character is using Bing to search!

Sneaky rich bastards think they program Google out of our brains this way :p

Well it didn't work for me, I've yet to see the "usefulness" of Bing. It seems to be the same old search engine rehash again if you ask me. In all fairness I haven't given it much of a chance though. But yeah.... there are the answers to the questions regarding why it's on FB.

Not amazing at all. They spent $80-$100 MILLION to make sure you know what Bing is. I could get the same amount of traffic to grannydonkeyshow.com with that kind of advertising budget. Of course you have been checking it out, ads for it are everywhere you look! :)

hoping that the major share of the search engine market will be relied on one search engine, else it will be a hell to do SEO, i hope Bing or a new comer will win the search engine market
