I have received an sms 2day morning ""thank you for using your hdfc bank credit card ending 6**5 for rs 13996.56 in 650-543-7818 at facebook.com*credits on 2012-05-24:05:09:16."" I have contacted my bank and they are saying that charges are showing on my a/c but no merchant name is there. I have never used my card online.

Are you damn sure that you have never used your credit card online? Because without that there is no way a hacker could know your card details.

ha ha, do you know who ever seen your card can use it online? All they need is to remember 16 digit card numbers (10 actually), expire date, CVV

so if you gave your card to someone (sure you did - just like gave to seller at POS) you probabbly lost your card

The latest Facebook scam is the Facebook "dislike" button scam.

Alarming news. Sometimes we mistakenly provide our credit card info to different site, that may be very much harmful. Before loosing anymore, contact with your bank, and ask their help.

Maybe an employee of the last merchant you used your card copied all your info. Maybe a bit far-fetched but I've read cases where that had happened.

They can't access your details through Facebook. Maybe you clicked on an external link coming from Facebook and it stole your cookies and accessed your info stored on your browser? The internet can be a dangerous place at times.
