i didnt know where to post this thread, weather in the computer section or the politics section, but it seems that facebook has removed the fan page of the Palestinian Intifada which was located here: http://www.facebook.com/Palestinian.Intifada

I was googling and found this page which says that the Israeli prime minister asked facebook to delete the page! at this link: http://www.lebspy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3184

im really thinking of deleting my facebook account

    You really should:)

As far as Facebook deleting that sites account, I believe it's justified of Facebook of doing so because it breeds hate/violence towards a peaceful nation like Israel and if the Muslim don't like the idea, then maybe they can start their own version of Facebook.

Facebook deletes hate pages directly calling for violence. If supporters of that fan page boycott, I don't think that many people would actually care.

It could be because they are promoting "DemoCrazy" against a totalitarian rulers. Ousting a ruler like Qaddafi and replacing with an alternative like a mix of Al Qaeda and former leaders of the current regime (A.K.A "Rebels") is better than the current dictator like Qaddafi that gets Western support in hoping that it will be better than the previous leaderships.

Unlike the Intifada Facebook pages which got deleted by Facebook calling for violence against a democratically nation like Israel will not stand much longer and as it happened.

It's a sad day for Muslims... All Muslims Are Now Boycotting Facebook Forever For Ever. See this thread.

I guess Orkut and Myspace should soon see a massive increase in traffic since Muslims can't use Facebook now.

perfect example of double standard... if non Muslims make page against Islam or Muslims.. facebook promote it (20 May the draw day is the example) that was free speech for them not calling for violence..

I disagree, and have same question Obamanation asked:

Vebtools, here is a statement by Facebook as to why the Palestinian Intifada page was shut down:

"The page... began as a call for peaceful protest, even though it used a term that has been associated with violence in the past. In addition, the administrators initially removed comments that promoted violence," the company statement said. "However, after the publicity of the page, more comments deteriorated to direct calls for violence. Eventually, the administrators also participated in these calls. After administrators of the page received repeated warnings about posts that violated our policies, we removed the page..."

Facebook is governed under its Terms of Services. Item 3.7 of Facebook TOS says “You will not post content that: is hateful, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence”

facebook does not follow their own rules.. ahhhh!!! why i am so crazy about this issue... nothing new... ofcourse they're gona support israel! The owner of fb is of jewish decent!

Mark Zuckerberg was raised Jewish, including having his bar mitzvah when he turned 13, although he has since described himself as an atheist.

One of the advantages of technological/intellectually advanced societies, no wonder the owner of FB is named Zuckerberg and not Al-Ibrahim.

He's a Jew so he supports Israel. What a wonderful summary. He's an Arab or Muslim so he supports Al Queda. Lets get off your hatred for the Jews and get back to my question.

What is hateful or threatening(the words you bolded) about the Draw the Prophet(PBUH) page on facebook? I can see where you might say it is offensive to some people but hateful or threatening? A facebook page about the joys of eating pork could be offensive to many practicing Jews, yet such pages are not removed from Facebook, and they are also not considered hateful or threatening by any normal person, unlike a page that contains posts stating: "Judgment Day will be brought upon us only once the Muslims have killed all of the Jews,".

Perhaps you agree with that statement, so you don't find it hateful.

O'nation - You're looking for consistent logic from a guy that claims he's Muslim but advertises for a lying bozo he knows runs a cheezy porn site?

Lotsa luck with that endeavor. :)
