Facebook Page Set-up Question - Sneaky or Stupid?

    Hi All

I have a question about Facebook pages (not profiles). As many of you will know, most people with a public profile or product to sell choose to create a Facebook page, not a profile. So far, so good. When you go to set-up a Facebook page, you must choose between certain categories of page, such as Local Business or Place; Company, Organization or Institution; Brand or Product; Artist, Band or Public Figure; Entertainment; or Cause or Community.

I am an author and I am finally setting up a Facebook page. Naturally I intend to choose the "Artist, Band or Public Figure" category because this is what other writers authors have done. I notice a couple of authors who have not used the "Artist, Band or Public Figure" category, but instead listed themselves, as individual people, in the "Entertainment" category, which is different from the other categories and usually reserved for the promotion of a specific form of entertainment such as a book.

But now the question - why have they done this? I'm asking people who really understand Facebook because I am new to it and have no idea. It's not likely that these people were too stupid to realize they are individuals and not commercial products, so I'm wondering if they have some sneaky thing going on where it's easier for people to find them in this category via searches, or something like that. If there is an advantage to it, I would like to know about it!

    Best regards to all,

    FS
