I just found out a few minutes ago that Facebook is no longer allowing small businesses -- basically, those who have no hope of getting more than 10k fans -- to have custom landing pages. You can read the announcement here. What does this mean for you? It means that your visitors will land on the information page or the wall, instead of the nice landing page you spent time or money designing. That said, each of the tabs on the fan page has a unique URL, so you can link your blogs and websites to the landing page tab. But still. This just seems really unfair to small business owners. JMO
Sorry, I have a really ignorant question so I can understand what is going on. I'm a twitaholic, but I've never joined Facebook but have been thinking about it. What is a "fan" in Facebook parlance? I've heard of people talk about friends i believe, but what's the difference between that and a fan?
^ Like group facebook has pages, and people can become fan of the pages,it is just like join a group, now facebook change the "Fan" option to 'likes".it is still same.
I agree, this does seem like an unfair decision. I'm so glad designing landing pages for some client's fan pages was put on the back burner. It would have been a waste of time and money. Do you know why this decision was made?
hopefully there can ba a solution to this as I was about to design my own for my website I will be launching
