I am new to marketing on Facebook. I guess I just don't know where to start.

The big question marks for me are:

    1) Do I start a personal account for the sole point of marketing or do I start a business account?

    2) How do you get friends if you are just trying to promote stuff?

    3) I assume it is a slow friend building process that you post mostly personal posts and once in a while subtlety post something on your wall?

I really have no clue here, can someone please be kind enough to lend me some advice?

    Hi ebraininc, here's my understanding:

    1) Do I start a personal account for the sole point of marketing or do I start a business account?
I think you can only open personal accounts, and then from there you can set up business "pages", which you administer. But you have to have your own FB account first, so first thing is to open a personal facebook account.

    2) How do you get friends if you are just trying to promote stuff?
What you'll be after is actually "fans" or "likes" of your business page, not your personal page. And this is not done by making friends, and business pages can't make friends. So you need to promote your business page in other ways to attract fans

    3) I assume it is a slow friend building process that you post mostly personal posts and once in a while subtlety post something on your wall?
Yes that's it. Your business page can post updates, and every now and then throw in the sales line
