Read an article a few days ago from John Chow about some kid raising a million dollars through places like MySpace and Facebook: http://www.johnchow.com/the-social-millionaire-wants-to-be-your-friend/ I checked out his website at thesocialmillionaire.com. It's an interesting concept but thinking in terms of SEO is it a good place to buy? His links aren't as SEO as they could be but for $1 I don't see how it could hurt. What do you guys think? If you guys think it's a good idea I'll buy a couple and share the results here.
I think that this million dollar thing is overrated. If something worked for one, does not mean it will work for everyone!
million dollar thing is crap. Simply no use, even if million dollar site is getting great traffic. Better buy link from high PR relevant site.
It's not even working for this guy. If he's only earned a few hundred bucks then he's not anywhere near $1 million. Promotion from John Chow might be worth a few thousand more, but I don't think he's got a realistic shot of reaching his goal. Link farm links are worth less now than ever before.
IMHO it is only another bidding directory. And "using all of his profiles on all of these social networks to promote the Social Millionaire" is only common social networking spam. But , of course, this concept can be successfull.
he seems to be pretty good for not having that many video plays or myspace friends. I think it's an alright concept, but it's still too early to tell whether he'll hit the mark or not. He has a good campaign going so far
i bought few keywords just to try it out. Don't expect much, there are thousands people buying links, my links will probably be lost in crowd. Also I don't like that the guy lists links and than writes next to them how much someone paid. Death trap for site owners it google will start looking at this links! Makes me want to have my links removed.
I ended up buying some keywords last night. Figured what the hell. Actually seeing a bit of traffic so hopefully it increases over time.
People dont like buying millionaire-type pixels/words/etc anymore..but I have to admit, it's a fun concept
i read the post and actually added the guy as a friend on facebook. Honestly I've seen the million dollar scheme elsewhere many times, but possibly the best asset is gaining another contact in the grand scheme of things. Oh and it didn't cost me a dime
Well I have the same reply as the other thread you started about the same topic, which makes me think that you are that guy, buying and selling links is now throwned upon by Google - what's going to happen when the site is banned by Google and carries no weight at all ? What if Google penalizes all the sites that have purchased links aswell ? There's easier ways to get traffic from social network sites.
