Facebook Making Page Offical

Hello Friends,

I have been seeing that Facebook are making pages official. Follow the image that i have attached:

I just wanted to know how that works.

what all things that Facebook looks after to make a page official?

 

I think it is a paid service offered by the Facebook.

 

According to what i know, it's Facebook who itself make your page official.

 

Can anyone help on this?

 

Also, I'm looking for same answer. I'm interested who is making my page official!? Do I have contact Facebook for it, or it's automatically after some time!?

You can apply here, but Facebook says that "most Pages and profiles, including local businesses, aren't eligible for verification":

Unless you are well known, don't even think about it. Official Pages are for huges companies, people like actors, footballers, etc, pages that attract millions of REAL members, just like twitter!

Any one can create facebook page ,mainly its being used by companies, celebrities to promote their brand and get popular and to get followed by other user who are interested and want to know the activity.

Previously, facebook was allowing users to send requests to make their page official but since last year they are making pages official manually.
