Hi, People are LIKE-ing my page as time goes by and I can see a total of 25 fans in the list. However, the Facebook page only shows "18 LIKES". How's this? Week by week, I see notifications of someone having "liked" my page, but the number is still not increasing. Stuck at 18 for about 2 months now. One explanation someone gave was that Facebook doesn't count it when pages like your page and it only counts when people like it. I don't know, perhaps you know more about this. I'd love to hear your opinions
There are a lot of things you can do to increase likes intentionally. You need to establish a campaign to drive traffic to the page in order to get likes. The easiest thing to do that costs nothing is to simply invite friends to like it. I've found about a 10% conversion rate on likes from my friends list, and it gets better as I add friends who have business interests similar to mine. You can also run a campaign with Facebook ads to gain likes. I've found that it is often more productive in the long run to run ads that also send someone to a landing page. There are a variety of ways you can set up a Facebook ad, and if you can manage to get them to opt in to your list in the process of liking your Facebook page, all the better. If your objective is to just gather a lot of likes to make your Facebook page look popular, you can gather bunches of at a low cost per click by targeting only third world countries. Of course these people are very unlikely to purchase from you, but that does not matter if you're just building your reputation by increasing your like count. I have made a couple of videos about using Facebook ads and the details of setting them up that might be of some help to you in keeping your costs down, and getting some more likes.
Stirling, you obviously didn't read my post or, you misunderstood. I find your information valuable, however getting likes is not the issue. My problem is: the likes are not growing, despite people giving likes! It's as is Facebook has some sort of a "bug". The count is not increasing, it's stuck at 18.
If by any chance you are currently running a FaceBook Ad campaign there was something specific there from what I've heard from other page owners. Apart from that most often the reason is pretty simple and it lies in the Privacy settings of the people that Liked you. What is shown as their activity is something that they might choose not to display, hence this difference. You can actually go ahead and check the FB forums for similar threads (there are a bunch) and read the FAQ section about the Likes.
I am not running any Facebook ad campaign. Rado_ch, thank you for the info regarding the privacy settings. I didn't know that could have an influence. Still, I didn't think that would influence my count showing. I did check Facebook forums on this topic and then I came here to discuss live. Perhaps people here have more experience. There are tonnes of answers for "possible reasons", but no-one seems to know exactly why the count doesn't follow the actual number of fans.
I think the one closest to what I've heard is this one (a reply in one of the forum topics)- "People can control who can see what they've liked on Facebook. This means that Page admins won't be able to see a full list of people who've liked their Page. You can see new likes, but this number usually doesn't reflect your total like count since people can choose to share things differently." It is kinda vague put like that, but it does hold some logic. If I choose to have most my settings on Private I would not want to reflect which pages I like. Imagine I like your page called Page X. What would be the point of my privacy if a friend of mine can visit that same page later and see that I, as a friend of theirs, have liked the page? Not sure if this is the exact reason that applies to you as, the way you explain it, its like the Likes suddenly stopped piling up for some reason. Having all your new users with high levels of privacy turned On at the same time would be unlikely...
Strangely, whenever I liked a page, regardless whether with my personal or my facebook page account, the like always showed up. I would like to see whether there's someone else experiencing this as well.
Yeah, I've had numbers on my own pages stay static for some time when I've noticed them earning likes as well. I think it's just a Facebook problem, not anything you're doing.
Well I guess there might be some glitch or some of your people are also unliking your fan page. I never have much notifications, maybe because the fans have crossed more than a Million on my fan page I guess after a certain number of likes you even dont get the alert from the Facebook backend.
You can target your promotions, promote your page or a post, and really get quite detailed in your targeting. And Facebook will LOVE you for spending your money with them.
You can use these methods to increase likes on your page 1.Facebook contests are the easiest way to get people excited and draw new users in as Fans. The lure of a big prize (one that’s relevant to your specific target market) makes it an easy ask for your target customers to also “Like” your Page and become your Fans Backup to Dropbox. Coupons are a great promotion. Something small like a 10% off coupon gives people an incentive to buy while keeping your margins (relatively) intact. The optimal way to use coupons though is to have them require an action to access them. 2.A Facebook Ad appears while a person is just browsing around on their News Feed, so they most likely won’t have the intent to purchase your products at that time. This means you need to provide an incentive to drive clicks on your Facebook Ads. You can provide a good incentive by using the three methods discussed above: contests, coupons and ebooks. 3.A great strategy for capturing visitors on your blog in a fairly non-invasive way is to get them to Like your Facebook Page. Many people are averse to signing up for emails due to spam, so a Like can be an easy alternative.
Been experiencing this too. My newly created fb page, recieved likes but the numbers arent increasing. I started thinking they have unliked it after liking.
I got a similar problem I got two websites and opened two different pages for them I have facebook like widget for both of them but the one which has less traffic got 50 new fans in 3 days but the one which has got 10 times more traffic got zero fans in 3 days, I dont know how to figure it out
I can see that there a some bugs in facebook, in your situation, i think you should go contact the facebook support yourself.
