I do not understand where the numbers come from on facebook likes and shares in ahrefs.com but it is also same stats as alexa and all other services. Am I missing something, when I sign into facebook numbers are different that what they are showing. Also have a like button on website with over 13k and ahrefs is showing like 12? Does anyone have an answer to this.
^ This is actually a great question, I have often wondered this myself but never bothered to really look into it. It's weird to me that you say when you've checked alexa shows the same metrics as ahrefs. The only info they give on their site is this. They specifically mention alexa when stating they are not using any output from a third party and.... If their is an enlightened member that could shed more light on this would be great. What kinds of things do we think their crawlers are looking for?
