Facebook like button

    Hi.
I've just added the 'FB' like button to my homepage. I've noticed that on pressing it myself, it makes a link from my homepage to my FB page.

Is this harmful to my site, in terms of outbound links from it.

When someone else presses it, will it show a link to their FB page?

Potentially, say 500 folks press it that'll be 500 outbound links, or am I missing the point here:confused:

Okay, quite a few views, but no suggestions so far. No worries, I've decided to move the FB 'button' to another page on my site. Apparently 14 folks have clicked on it so far.

Isn't it Ajax-based? Regardless, Googlebot doesn't click buttons nor are they logged into facebook, so they do not see such links.

It doesn't work like that. In fact if you look at the source of the code, you will see a few links to Facebook, but that is it. You may get some links from other people's profile to yours, but that is it.

Thanks all, I'm going to leave it where it is now - on my links page. I've got a link on my home to the links page for those who wish to follow my site on FB or to 'like' my site. I'm happier with that!
