Facebook is taking another step forward in its aim for global online domination. The latest release from the site is Facebook Offers. Released at the Facebook Marketing Conference last week, Facebook Offers is a social media version of Daily Deal emails and allows businesses to bypass the the middle man and go straight to their ‘fans’ – so to speak. While Facebook is the medium used to advertise the ‘offers’, they do not charge businesses to post an offer, nor do they charge consumers to redeem an offer. However, it clearly states in the Facebook Help Centre that:“At this time, offers are only available to managed advertising clients. If you have an account manager at Facebook, please reach out to them to start posting offers from your Page. We’re working on expanding the number of Pages eligible to post offers and expect to make offers available more broadly soon.”So, not everyone is able to use this new Facebook product at present and it has also been mentioned that many businesses are still unaware of it. But for those who have an account manager at Facebook and wish to bring more awareness to their business then they can follow in the footsteps of Macys and use Facebook Offers to launch a deal for customers.
