According to Gregory Lyons, a senior analyst at iCrossing, said this milestone will touch on August. If Facebook cross this 1 bllion users then we can say one-seventh of humanity is now within the social network’s grasp.
I agree. I doubt there are 1 billion genuine members on Facebook. Some created more than 1 profile (personal/business/spamming/etc). Maybe in 2-3 years time.
Facebook has so far failed to capture huge markets like Russia and China. So I don't think that it's possible in the nearest future.
Ye but the only thing is, it is not really 1/7 of the population, I personally have quite a few accounts and I know people with thousands of accounts that they personally own. This means even if they do get to 1 billion accounts they will still be millions of real users away from the 1 billion mark
I don't get why some people on here are saying Facebook will close down, never have I seen any posts from the creator of this thread saying Facebook will close down, he is just saying Facebook is nearing a billion over users.
Many people have created fake profiles, otherwise this cannot happen. 1 billion people in the world do not have access to internet. People create fake profiles to spam real users. Same way they used to create fake profiles in MSN messenger/Yahoo Messenger.
It can, and it will. It may not be in August, but 1bil users is pretty much a certainty within the next year or two. Did you even bother to read the thread? It has nothing to do with FB closing down.
Haha exactly, I suspect some people are just posting here just to jack up their post count. It's really annoying. Nothing in this thread even remotely suggest to Facebook being closed down. The thread starter was just discussing about Facebook nearing in on 1 billion users.
1 billion accounts is possible. 1 billion users idk. I know more then 1/7th of americans have FB's, but other countries i'm not sure.
I think it would be impossible to happen. Do you have a link where I can read the article about your topic?
