Hi all, Just wanted to share the following link about Diaspora being launched by the 15th of September. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-11108891 Someone called this new network "The anti-Facebook Network" It's true and quite scary that Facebook stores all users personal info... but this will be enough to make all Facebook users switch to Diaspora? Would you?
I'll be checking out Diaspora for sure, because it's an interesting project and I'm not a fan of Facebook in general (because of all the privacy issues we keep hearing about). But I seriously doubt that Diaspora will be popular - maybe it won't even reach Twitter-popularity-levels? Mum and dads don't care (or know) about what Facebook is up to and it's going to be a struggle moving everybody in your network over to another social site. But let's see what Diaspora turns out to be, I'm looking forward to ty it out.
I will be checking as well, I really like the idea of sharing only what I want without any facebook claiming rights on my stuff Cheers!
Well... I don't know... I just don't want to talk without having all the facts, but I really think this Diaspora stuff will catch. Cheers!
I'm following the Diaspora quite closely and really don't think it will be a Facebook killer. If it's going to be, Facebook will most likely buy it out, or use some of it's features as it will be open source. Funny thing though -> Mark Zuckerberg donated to their project
Good to know that you are following, maybe you can tell me why do you think that Diaspora won't succeed. Cheers!
It's just incredible how people don't even consider something that might be better... just because they don't know it... unfortunately this happens not only when talking about a trivial thing like this. Cheers!
not as big as facebook...no... it's too hard to compete against facebook at this time, mainly because the popularity level of facebook is high and many on the net are using it.
So you are telling me that wherever people go or say is good, you will go after them? This is a very serious statement. Cheers!
