Facebook Groups vs Facebook Pages

I think it has been already proved that Facebook can help you market your brand, your website, your business and ....

however, there are two options for marketing on facebook.

Groups and Pages.

I used to had a Group on facebook, but It did not work in the same I expected, however, groups have some great features like mass messaging all members, and in pages you cannot mass mail ! however there are other options in Pages that made me move toward it. now it's been a few days I am using pages and the members numbers are democratically going up.

however we still have some big groups on Facebook and they are very successful.

I think selecting between pages and groups is very important. You should make your decision before marketing your website or business via Facebook.

How do i get the numbers off of the end of my URL? Someone told me all I had to do was get 25 "likes", and they would be removed. I have over 200 now, and I still have them.

 

Its not a matter of which you should use but how you should use each. And you should use each.

 

Never heard about removing the numbers off the end of the URL ! Why is it important to you? you can make a domain redirecting to reach it.

 

I choose Fan Pages. Its features are more useful for my promotions than facebook groups.

 

Which features are those? Being able to email users is very powerful. Only problem is really not to over do it. What features am I missing regarding a fan page? I still say use both but I don't see the features.

 

When you post updates on a page, they appear on everyones newsfeed that likes the page, a far better function than anything a group can provide imo, less spammy than direct messaging

 

IC... I can make post to a group show up on my wall, thus on other peoples walls.

Over mailing to your list yeah, that will kill it dead. I still hold, use both.

 

Correct, and after you build a huge one, there are tons of other ways to make money just cause of the message that appears on their walls.

 

What do you mean by tones of other ways to make money? I usually use them to convert them as my website customers. I mean at last they should come to your website to help you make some money. Am I right?
