I started using Facebook quiet a bit lately and I found the Feeds to be the best thing ever invented for Social Network, I know Bebo has adopted this also. I think eventually alot of social network will too.

I have a social network site myself and thinking of adopting this feature. I have a question.

Does users think less of the site if it copy facebook? usually copycat are never sucessful because it will be lable as a copycat and site loses credibility. What do you guys think?

I actually like that feature, but if you look at myspace..it copied alot of sites like xanga and tripod but they made it open source what an idea, but I wouldn't think they would look at your for being a copycat for having one feature like facebook

Blatently copying something isn't cool in anyones books. You can definitely take an idea and run with it, but whatever you end up with, don't bother using it unless it's BETTER than the original :)

I'll have to disagree with that, I don't think it has to be better then the original. As long as it serve the sites purpose then thats all it needs to do.

Whats the point in multiple word applications, blog systems, etc. etc.

Someone doesn't copy something else just to do exactly as has already been done. When developing something based on something previously created, I personally believe that a goal to be better than the original should be in your priorities.
