    www.junkegg.com has 470+ facebook fans

However, based on our records, only a handful of them are registered on JunkEgg as users and list items/services for sale.

Is Facebook Fan Networking for business just a false sense of success or have others fully get the full effect of their followers? - Your thoughts?

Your situation is quite common for Facebook fan pages. Many people just click "become a fan" and never think about it again. These people can be labeled as "Joiners." One thing to do is look at who your audience is and what their habits are online. Take a look at Forrester Research's Social Technographics tool here:

    http://www.forrester.com/Groundswell/profile_tool.html

Enter the information for your customers and see where they fall on the graph. You might find that you have a high percentage of Joiners or Spectators which will explain why many of them are not active by your site.

Hope this helps, keep us posted on what you find!

    Hi All,

The same can be said of other types of social network like Twitter.

Not all joiners or followers do so because they are interested in what you have to say.

I think there is a bigger picture in that this will only help to make your information go viral.

Great for the website tool share,

    regards,

    Ian

Yea but if you add your product(s) to your facebook group (i.e link) when you submit it everyone who is a fan will see the link in thier timeline and if its interesting enough they will give you a click through and this could result in new members.

That is what im trying to do at the moment but i only for 15 fans :(
