Hi everybody, So today a colleague noticed that you no longer need to 'fan' a facebook page to do something on it (like a post make a comment etc) A) Has this been anybody else's experience? B) Is there any way to reverse it? C) How are you coping with the change if it's not reversable and universal The 'must fan to complete action' was a big driver of facebook members for my job and this will make life a hell of a lot more difficult for us.
It's up to the person setting up the page to allow if people can post on it or not. If I insist that people fan/friend me first before posting, then that's my option, on the other hand, I can make it a free for all. I'm pretty sure that's the way the ball bounces over there, but I might be wrong ---- and probably will be within a week at the rate they are EFFING things up on facebook!
I'm trying to resolve this with the person in charge of Facebook now. That's in the 'manage permissions' section yes where you let people make posts, like posts and post videos. Do the following options mean post without 'becoming a fan' or post at all: * Posting Ability: Users can write or post content on the wall * Users can add photos * Users can add tags to photos by xxxx.com * Users can add videos It does seem that Zuckerberg has forgotten the reason people jumped onto Facebook in the first place.
I think I may have found one solution to this... Apps like Wildfire http://www.marismith.com/iframes-facebook-app-fan-gate-wildfire/ are there any other 'fan gate' apps that people know of?
just change your page settings to only allow fans to comment....its easy and no big deal to do takes 2 seconds....
