Hey everyone, With FaceBook growing to be much larger and thousands more people using it each day, I was wondering if it would be worthwhile developing a FaceBook connect system for my gaming forum. I know alot of people don't use FaceBook for foruming, but there is still a chance it could bring in some more unique visitors, right?
If you've got a huge members list, go for it. Actually, I recommend you develop that system no matter how many members you have. You never know, they might invite friends, etc. Yugo,
But it's quite tough to develop and integrate properly, and I don't really want to waste the time unless it's guaranteed. We already have a FaceBook group which isn't getting many new visitors, but wouldn't that take in more than FBC? I suppose It'd be worth giving a go anyway...
Facebook Connect is also a matter of convenience. I, myself, am way more likely to sign up for a site if I can use an existing log in as opposed to creating yet another username and password. I think it would be worth your time to develop it...especially if you plan on keeping your forums for a long time. Also, if you ever plan to sell them, the FBC would add value. Just some thoughts.
Facebook is really a great help for every website. It's good to connect it to your site to gain more friends.
