FaceBook connect - is it worth going for it?

    Hey everyone,

With FaceBook growing to be much larger and thousands more people using it each day, I was wondering if it would be worthwhile developing a FaceBook connect system for my gaming forum. I know alot of people don't use FaceBook for foruming, but there is still a chance it could bring in some more unique visitors, right?

If you've got a huge members list, go for it. Actually, I recommend you develop that system no matter how many members you have. You never know, they might invite friends, etc.

But it's quite tough to develop and integrate properly, and I don't really want to waste the time unless it's guaranteed. We already have a FaceBook group which isn't getting many new visitors, but wouldn't that take in more than FBC? I suppose It'd be worth giving a go anyway...

Facebook Connect is also a matter of convenience. I, myself, am way more likely to sign up for a site if I can use an existing log in as opposed to creating yet another username and password. I think it would be worth your time to develop it...especially if you plan on keeping your forums for a long time. Also, if you ever plan to sell them, the FBC would add value. Just some thoughts.

Facebook is really a great help for every website. It's good to connect it to your site to gain more friends.
