For a long time now Facebook has been accused of non proper use of users’ information and data. This fact led users believe that they are not adequately protected and secure. Facebook is implementing new security features, which are hoped to bring back users’ trust to the most famous social network. Here are three new tips which will improve privacy of your account: 1. One time passwords When we use facebook out in the public (internet café, airports, etc) we are open to all kinds of threats. Facebook will give the ability to its users to use each time a different password when they connect from an unsecure network. This new password would be valid for 20 minutes and can be used only one time, whereas users will receive it to their mobile phone through sms. 2. Remote control In case you have forgotten to log out from your account in facebook, when you were at the office or at home, you have the ability to log out from another device. You can go to “account settings†and then security settings†and choose the option to receive notifications every time someone connects to your account (they send e-mail or sms). You can also see many information regarding the time, location and type of device, which was last connected to your account. 3. Beware the Facebook apps Recently a research revealed that some of the most popular facebook apps such as FarmVille, Texas HoldEm Poker and FrontierVille, had broken facebook rules and were collecting users’ information. Later they send those data to advertising or marketing companies, braking privacy laws. So be really careful every time you accept a game or app. Source: SecNews.gr
the one time password thing seems like a good idea...other than when you're on holiday you'd have to pay a premium rate fee for the text
