Facebook may be deciding to double its revenue by starting premium services as the major focus. How much will you pay ? Discuss with me.

I think i'll just pay about 1 $ per month, because it already has very large number of member, so it will make a large enough money.
Also it has already make other business like PPC or ad.

Well if you are going to evaluate by the number of members they have, then it should be 1 cent and not one dollar ;)

    Depends on what they offer.

There have been plenty of rumors in this vein for some time and FB has been unequivocal that average users will never pay to use the site no matter how many people leak the rumors of $15 a month charges.

I use it frequently. and WOULD NOT pay MORE THAN $5.

Actually. I want to go on further for this.

I would pay NO MORE than $5 for my Personal page.

Maybe they should require BUSINESSES to pay a premium fee. Leave it free for the users. This is a much better idea.

They do not want to risk loosing its members, who are its backbone for the advertising network which they profit from.

Chances are they can make more of of advertising than I am willing to pay to stay a user

Yea, agree , They shouldn't be charging users to stay users on their site, many of the folks would just leave the site,(Though FB is really addictive to some), but I too wouldn't pay anything to stay on the site as a user ...

And besides, If they charge me something for keeping my Fan page, then I would pay the charges, just like 5$ a month at the most !

This will only lead to traffic diversion to other major networks and FB might not remain what it is today.

    I won't pay a dime...

I see you quickly became a fan of Google Buzz - I must say I don't share your opinions, but of course, this is democracy and everyone can have their own opinion.

However, I may be wrong, but you are maybe trying to catch on and take your part of the next big (possible) thing to hit the Internet. Although I don't think G buzz will make much of an impact, it is always possible. I am no prophet after all.

It might just turn good for you in the end.

There are plenty of options there over internet. The main reason, people are using FB is as it has some very great features and it is free. If FB would be paid then people will move to some other networks and FB will loose its userbase.

Facebook would go out of business if they decided to charge, users would just join some other free service

I dont' know where this rumor started but facebook would be shooting themselves in the face (Pun intended) if they started to charge for their service. Would google start charging ? what about myspace? Remember when aol was going to charge for AIM?. All these businesses are based on an ad based model. They make their money based on ads that are seen by users. Charging would decrese users which would decrease the amount of ads seen.
On top of losing viewing customers.. then you need to deal with the fact that if something is free and it doesn't work.. poeple are happy to wait for a fix for a little while.. the second you start charging.. you better be getting back to them in 24hrs or there's a problem.

Above are just a few reasons why FB will not go paid.
