Facebook Application Vs Facebook Page. Which is better for promotion and branding?

I am just wondering if I should create facebook Apps or facebook page to market my blog. Which one is better and which one can give you maximum exposure to promote my blog. Although fan page is easy to create but what are the pros and cons of App vs page.

 

I'd like to know the same ! Can somebody guide us !

 

Facebook application. YOU can even monetize your application with various affiliate networks and ad platforms. Fanpages can also be monetized but not as much like apps. And people use apps frequently whereas they becaome a fan of your page and never come back.

Why not both? The part of the branding process is simply to get your name out of there. You can have a fan page AND an application at the same time. Hell, why not create a group as well ? Then you'll have the mighty trio.

Also, try to create some interesting application, something relevant to your blog and socially marketable.

Actually the answer is both, but it's depend on how you want to promote you brand, i found blog that show some of the facebook applications they are promoting their brands through facebook apps. here's the link: fbpromos.blogspot.com, but you will notice that most of thes has Facebook page. So, fans will easily know that you are running application. Just by looking on the fanpage and click the specifc tab for your application. I hope this helps.

 

Actually both are good for promotion for site or blog. B'coz if u make a page u can send suggestion to your FaceBook friends And samething you do in Application.

I think apps set you apart from the crowd. At least, I'm very impressed with those who know how to develop them. But if you know how to do that, then a fan page would be a piece of cake, so why not do both?

You should do both to be honest and here is why:

First, build your fan page and some fans so when others come to check you out they will realize that people actually like your page or whatever product or service you offer. Also when your app is done assuming that you are still promoting your fanpage, you will be able to alert everyone about the new app and for them to check it out and if you build a strong connection with your fans, they will leave reviews on your app.

Second, when you build your app and understand seo and keywords, you can pick up free traffic from that app store so to speak. People search for all kinds of apps and they do a simple search and if you already have fans that left you reviews, then having more apps installed to other new facebook users will increase your branding.

 

I think going for both will do best. It all depend on your marketing strategy. I have been doing well with facebook fanpage and have made some decent money. So, it really depend on you and what you intend to achieve.

FB users are now more cautious with FB applications but "a good survey app+nice bonus/discount" always work out. If you have enough resource, a little game will have great effect.
