I have been thinking about developing a facebook application but to be honest, I am not a programmer! The idea is there and I know that it could be a great little money earner, considering the amount of people who use facebook. Has anyone designed an application for facebook? If you have can you offer any help on how to get started in plain English? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
I really am no expert, so I may something wrong . I have however done a few google searches and found some interesting articles, that you may find useful: http:/www.virtualmarketingblog.com/index.php/20071022/how-to-make-facebook-applications/ The above link gives 3 other links inside the Article to other useful pages. I really think you have to be able to program to make an application, the best thing you could do is if you have some money, find another programmer who could be willing to make the Facebook Application for you. Best of luck with the development of your Application mate !
Thankyou for your help. Appreciated greatly and I think you are correct in saying I will need a developer. Is anyone on DP looking for some work with me?
I am glad I could help you out mate ! I would wait until you have been a member here for 14 Days, then you can make a topic in the Marketplace Forums requesting a FaceBook Applications Developer. I would however conduct some searches on the DigitalPoint forums until then to find some tips and people who have made past applications. For example I searched and found this topic, http:/forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=782115, the member is actually selling some FaceBook Applications and may be able to make yours for you. Like I said you most probably will need money for him to make it for you, or you could offer a split in profits. I would send him a PM and see if he/she could be of any use to you and your project! Another member selling an Application, http:/forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=765331!
Facebook apps are fairly straight forward to create with only a relatively small amount of code required for facebook itself with the rest being the normal code for whatever functionality it is that you want to be able to do.
