I've made quite a few Facebook apps this year, mostly using .NET, although It seems that it is much easier (or more forgiving) with PHP. I was just wondering if anybody has a language or Framework preference when building your Facebook apps.
php with mysql by far is much easier.. You can write normal php code and just bring it into the app.. All of my applications run off of php with mysql backend or just in plain Flash with callbacks to php and mysql.. I'm learning to use ajax now also along with it as I have seen alot of places doing that..
Cool! Hey, make use of the Google code base...you can grab some awesome jquery api stuff directly from the code base.
I've read about it on Tech Crunch a few times but have not had time to check it out.. But I will definitely swing by sometime this afternoon to give it a look see how it goes..
PHP is the way forward nice and clean as long as you comment your code correctly it is very easy to upgrade, update etc when facebook move the goal posts. (And FB move the goals posts quite often and without much notice).
You can essentially use any language. Id suggest using the PHP SDK that facebook offers. It simplifies everything.
Eclipse is a well known framework. I use it for different projects, but you can develop FB apps as well: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-eclipse-facebook/index.html?ca=dgr-eclipse-1
