Has anyone here advertised on facebook?

If yes, what was the price, and what kind of results did you get?

    Westoff.

I have advertised on facebook with a couple stores of mine. I forgot the price though...its a cerain price per banner. In increments of 500 all the way up to 10,000 I think. You can also target exact audiences (males/females/black/white/certain schools/certain states...ect) In any marketing campaign 3% return is considered good..I think I got around 12% of people using the banners...so It was worth it in my opinion.

Facebook made some changes to their
advertising options last week, so I thought
    I'd give it a go.

Last Wednesday I set up a new ad and
thought I'd share my results from that day...

    77,845 impressions
    13 clicks
    $0.16 avg CPC
    $2.09 total
    8 leads (newsletter sign-ups)

I'm sure there's room here for me to
improve my copy and tighten up my
targeting, but so far I'm encouraged
and plan to keep on testing.

How come 77.845 impressions for $2 USD?
Are you running a CPC campaign?

For CPC i think it could be logical but as you see CTR, facebook is not the best place to put ads on a CPM basis. I rarely look at ads myself when i browse my and friends' profiles.

I would say the general results people on here have been getting are less then stellar. I'd avoid paying for advertising on facebook. What you can do is direct marketing on facebook with a profile. That would be more effective then anything.

I've noticed that Adbrite now have a Facebook application product - which is why I'm trying to write my own Facebook app... I won't put any advertising in to start with tho...

You have to add the developer application and build you app. Then when its ready you submit it to the directory, and await approval from facebook. Pretty standard procedure.
