Anybody here experienced in facebook advertising?

What kind of product to focus?
    What is conversion rate?

Is AFF/Fling a good product to sell on facebook?

yeah i built a large network of accounts with 1000's of male friends.
I do very well with cam sales. AFF never converted as well,
they bumped me down to the % payout which blows so I dropped them.

Never dealt with fling at all.

Focus on camsales, do recurring, it adds up after you've done it awhile

I think facebook advertising is actually one of the best. They accept Paypal, which is a pretty good feature considering it is really, really easy to put money into, they have a huge market, and in my experience they have had really good customer service.

In my experience you should be running CPA (cost per action) advertising on facebook they seem to have huge conversions. As for what ones to promote I would start with seasonal stuff...valentines is just around the corner ;)

A little, some of my campaigns have converted as high as 13% (ring tones) others have converted at .72% money making opportunities. But again it all depends on the type of offers and design that your providing to its users. If I were you I would give it a shot you can get facebook ad credits all over the internet now so I would start there and just start testing. Good luck with your campaigns.

Think about your target market on facebook it will be mostly younger people looking to meet other people and are tech savvy.... so you can promote dating sites since they are on facebook in the first place to meet people, ringtone offers for the tech savvy, weightloss for the people obsessed about their looks

these all can do very well through facebook advertising since the users will be interested in them

For FB advertising, do we need to select by keyword or best advertise to all?

You can't advertise by keyword AFAIK, you have to choose a target demographic, by age, location etc.

I have found FB PPC to be APPALLING - I mean, miniscule CTR, massive bounce rate and terrible conversions. At least for the kinds of product I have targetted. If anyone has any bright ideas on how to make use of FB PPC, I'd be open to hear it (got another free $30 to use up!), but I have read articles by industry people saying a similar thing - FB are not doing too well with the PPC model, I don't think I will bother. Only thing I can think of is marketing something similarly socially-based, but can't really think what!

I had to raise my CPC to 0,4$ to get my ads shown. Thus, facebook is no use for me.

Facebook is tough to get an ad approved on. But keep trying. Just throw shit at a wall and see what sticks. After about 100 tries I found some that have stuck so I'm gonna see if I can profit from it.

I totally agree with rileypool, getting some ads approved can be a pain but anyways I've had some pretty good experience with Facebook advertising, you just have to know what people want from a site like this and it's not quality webhosting for a 1$ , Viagra pills for 17 year olds or books on how to perform well in the search engines.
I'll give you a tip offer services (preferably free one's) and monetize through advertising.
It's works if you pick the right niche.

Definitely right, I tried couple of times to get an ad up but have been turned down everytime... It's kinda tough and also frustrating,

I may try some physical products next time! Well one thing is for sure, there are people making a killing at it while I'm being turned Down...

It's totally frustrating to advertise on Facebook. They turn down ads and then give you NO reason why. How does this help the advertiser??? All it does is frustrate people to the point where they finally say screw it and advertise elsewhere.

The problem isn-t getting an ad approved (what the hell are you guys trying to sell?!), it's getting conversions, esp. for physical products. It just sucks, plain and simple, it's the wrong demographic for selling stuff to, I am guessing.

Oh, and I was wrong about keywords, I forgot you can choose keywords that people have added in their interests. But I am not sure how accurate that really is, people put all kinds of stuff in there...

Yep, I have never had any problems getting ads approved. You have to find out what the demographics are in the section of facebook your planning on advertising in then find out what they want and give it to them. Marketing 101 sell tackle to a fisherman and you should do ok.
