Catherine86, whether people say it works for them or not, it really shouldn't affect your decision to use (or not). FB is a different crowd so depending on what you're selling, it could do extremely well (or poorly!). Start with a low budget and experiment with different ad copies and landing pages. Good luck!

Facebook advertising is very effective. People believe those ads. But now-a-days I see alot of unwanted ads are posted at facebook which embarrasses me and I believe that other people also faces embarrassment watching those fuckin ads.

So mate, please be careful about placing ads in facebook so that we all can use facebook as marketing.

Yes, its effective and worked for me. But, your landing page and the ad copy is extremely important in getting clicks and conversations. So you need to work on them very well

It depends what your advertising. Conversion and CTR vary so much from industry to industry that you should really have your own bench marks. Facebook advertising is also a very different concept from Google AdWords and similar, as your hitting people when they are not acutally searching for such a product. That said, it allows you to target people based on their 'likes' incredibly accurately, allowing you to really segment your market and very your advertising. If this is something you need to do then you should committ a small amount of money to Facebook advertising and ensure you measure the stats closely to see if it's worth your money, don't rely on what someone tells you, as no one knows your business and your benchmarks for success but you.

It looks pretty expensive. Don't know how well it works.
I was just trying to create an add but trying with 10€ was too low budget.

Depends what market you are advertising in. If it's very competitive and you are targetin a wide number of people it may be expensive. I found it to be a fair bit cheaper than Google adwords but again, I think this was due t the competitiveness of the market. It may take a bit more than 10 euros to be able to really measure the results though

It really depends what you are selling. I would get a lot of clicks but not many sales so I ended up losing money. I would say try it with only $500 if after your trial you lose then you only lost $500. If you end up making more money then you spend then it will be worth it.

IT depends on the campaign and the marketing type as well . Some campaigns are working good on facebook and some are not.

In our experience, Facebook will definitely get you traffic, however, the resulting sales from the traffic is not always very high. Therefore, you will end up paying quite a bit for traffic and your ROI may not be very good. If you are looking for traffic for brand recognition and are not worried about ROI, then Facebook is a good way to advertise.

If you ask me I would definitely go for Facebook ads. just imagine millions of users using that site daily and definitely your are going to get quality visitors. I dont click on any ad that I dont want to go to. I click ads because i see something of my use there.
So I would say go for it. But have your ad properly placed and should have proper content and it should not be misguiding other wise you might get bad quality traffic. If you want you can do a little experiment before you invest BIG
    Enjoy

There was a video on YaHoO! News the other day about Facebook ads supposedly trying to overpower Google AdWords.
