I am wondering if it is best or even necessary when you adverise on facebook to run multiple copies of the same ad?

i dont find the results to be any better. you just spend money twice as fast with the same amount of clicks

but it is good to try different looking ads and see which ones convert the best

It's always important to split-test your ads, and that's recommended. Otherwise it's better to focus on the targeting of your ad, which can be very specific on facebook.

I guess it cost so much to advertise you have to get your money's worth. To advertise go to your facebook acct and on the very bottom click on "advertise".

Split testing is necessary when you are running ad campaign on facebook. Facebook is a kind of display website where you are running image ads with some text. Your potential client will get attracted when they getting attractive ads on facebook. You need to create multiple ad copies for multiple targeted users with the multiple matrices such as likes, interests, social impressions etc. and each of ad copies giving you different results. You have to find out which ad copy performing well in terms of bid, ctr, connections etc .... on the basis of these matrices you can actually finding best performing ads and will continue by allocating more cost for the ads.

Isolate each main part of a Facebook ad in order to perform split testing. These main parts are the ad image, headline and body. Start off with the same headline and body content, just have two different images for two different ads. See which one performs better. Take the "winner" of the two ads and split test it again against another image (still having the same body and headline). When you're satisfied with the best performing image, move on to split test the headline. Repeat and do the same for the body of the ad. Soon you should have a good combination that performs well.

Shamol, sorry but I don't have any more Facebook ads running to show you an example. I've been focusing on seo at the moment and took a break from any ppc ad marketing at the moment.

yeap, it is necessary these days because facebook is popular and social network these days. it will work when u provide the advertisement with proper details and information. people will attract by seeing little demos of the advertisement. its upto the market brand or which product or service you want to advertise. people must aware or knows about it.multiple copies of the same add might not work but u can share or upload the same product with different style of add by giving the different information or features.

This is great advice. I doubled my Click-Through-Rate (CTR) just by changing the image. Headline and body was the same. If you are advertising for a FB Fan Page, the headline is set to the page name. You won't be able to change the headline, especially if the page already has 100+ Likes. You can't change the page name once a page has 100+ likes.

This would depend on several factors, including your budget, how competitive niche is, how effective your ad is, your daily limit, your bid, CPC vs CPM, etc. For example, in one niche we paid over $1/click (CPC) for an Ad. We tweaked the Ad and it dropped to $0.60/click. In another niche, we paid $0.13/click for an Ad. These are our results. Your results will probably different. I would suggest buying a FB Ad coupon for your first campaign. I paid $18.00 for a $50.00 coupon. You can probably find it cheaper, if you look around. This should be enough to get a feel for your Click-Through-Rates (CTR) and conversions. I ran one of my campaigns for two days with a $25/day limit, using a $50 coupon.
