You can stop your ad whenever you want and after you pause it, you don't need to pay.

Yes, placing your site as an advertisement isn’t that necessary. You can draw lots of visitors through fan page. You may want to check on some cool fan pages to give you a glimpse on how it should be. It isn’t that difficult.

We are currently running ads on Facebook. It is pretty simple to create an ad and to continue managing it. With the number of people on Facebook, it is a recommended form of advertising for sure.

You should probably do both... use Facebook ads and a fan page. Facebook ads seem to work best when you link them to a page inside Facebook, rather than linking out to an external site. People on Facebook don't like to be pulled out of the Facebook environment.

So build a fan page and link your Facebook ads to it. You can then put external links on the fan page if you must.

Facebook Ads is a good way to get the targeted traffic and also for lead generation, You have the facility to stop your Ad displaying when you want and after stop displaying your Ad on Facebook, you need not to pay for that.

It is just like PPC, Yahoo Ad Center, there till when you have amount in your account, your ad will be displayed and when all the money is over, your add will not be displayed in the SERPs with your preset targeted keywords.
