It is very popular that facebook accounts got hacked. Can you all share your ideas on how they hacked accounts and how to protect our accounts from being hacked??

they just phishing mails and hacked their accounts.

never click on suspicious links in emails. Facebook never sends any password update for you ( except you try to reset )

    1) Use Lastpass for all passwords and set it up for multi-factor authentication.
    2) Never store passwords in the browsers.
    3) Always use https: for Gmail, Facebook, Yahoo, Banking sites, PayPal, etc.
    4) In Google - use the 2 step verification.
    5) Use strong security question and answer.

Use hard-to-guess passwords. Also, don't click links that you don't trust.

The first and foremost thing is never ever share your passwords with any of your friends or relatives :)
Most of these things start from in-house. If you visit any internet cafe regularly, do not save your passwords. Delete your computer cookies before you log out from the system. Do not close the facebook window directly from the top right corner, instead properly sign out from your facebook account.

Not using Strong passwords, Easy to hack password recovery questions. There are two primary reasons behind hacks apart from clicking suspicious links or running scrips on your browser

The key thing is the password. People are using really simple passwords and like, 12321, this is ridiculously easy for a hacker. So you should make it as complex as you possibly can. Also, people are using their Facebook accounts on different computers, laptops and forgetting to log out properly.

Just had my FB page hacked an hour or so ago. BTW, I resent the insinuations that someone dumb gets their account hacked. My previous password included both letters and numbers and furthermore, I only access my profile on one computer and one server. I guess I'm a bit defensive because I thought people who lacked common sense or any know how got hacked. Imagine my humility and surprise when I received an email notification via my phone that I was hacked!

Okay, with that said, FB's hacking prevention, etc. is pretty impressive. It not only alerted me right away but it located where the hacker came from! I'm located in the great boring space of the Midwest and my hacker was tracked out east on a Verizon mobile.. I reset my password without any fuss. Good times!

watchout the url when you want to log in. The most common way to hack is by phishing. Trust me.
